Caulk's Field and Beyond: the Impact of the War of 1812 on Chesapeake Communities

Speaker: Scott Sheads, a 30 year veteran ranger
historian with the National Park Service at Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine in
Baltimore. He serves on board the Pride of Baltimore II, has written several books on the War of
1812, and has been featured on the PBS documentary The War of 1812.

Executive Order 9066

The WWII Internment of Japanese
Americans was a low ebb in the history of American civil liberties. Speaker:
John Christie, retired partner from the District of Columbia office of Wilmer, Cutler,
Pickering, Hale and Dorr LLP. Degrees from Brown University and Harvard Law School led to a
litigation practice, which included occasional appearances before the Supreme Court.

Citizens registered with the Democratic and Republican parties wiill choose their party candidates for the offices of US President  today, along with a MD Senator and members of the House of Representatives. All registered voters (regardless of party affiliation) may vote in local Board of Education races. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. If you are in line at 8 p.m., you will still be allowed to vote.

Date may be subject to change. Check with Board of Elections.
